The Clawd Rush
If last week was “All Things Clawd”, then this week is very much a continuation of that trend.
We’ve got four repos with “agent-skills” in the name in our top 40. We’ve got a Clawd ecosystem that doesn’t seem to be slowing down, and everyone seems to be building a “skill” - you know, a text file.
Skills frameworks, codebase memory systems, configuration collections, lightweight alternatives. That was around 60% of what our internal Github Tracker exposed.
The numbers tell the story: multiple agent frameworks crossing 40k+ stars. Configuration collections from hackathon winners hitting 41k in three weeks. Persistent memory systems (claude-mem) on version 9 (it’s only been like 6 months!). The reality is that this ecosystem is moving so much faster than any other technology I’ve seen in the past (jQuery just hit v4).
And like everything in the open source AI world, the forks are already out - Three separate “nano” projects are racing to build lightweight alternatives: nanobot (10.8k stars, created Feb 1), nanoclaw (5.7k, runs in Apple containers), and moltworker (8k, Cloudflare’s version on Workers). Everyone is a critic and now thanks to Claude, everyone has time for a rewrite - just fire Claude up in your 35th tmux window and get to work.
